Remembering Mr. Roy Eugene Davis
Paula Whang-Ramos
“Live with inspired purpose and empowering enthusiasm. You are an immortal, spiritual being; live as you are meant to live.”
~ Roy Eugene Davis, How to Use Your Creative Imagination
As many of you know, Mr. Roy Eugene Davis is Yogacharya O'Brian's Spiritual Teacher of almost 40 years. Mr. Davis has dedicated his life to living and freely sharing the teachings of Kriya Yoga, the Yoga first introduced to the USA 99 years ago, by his teacher, Paramahansa Yogananda. The Center for Spiritual Enlightenment and the Blue Lotus Center were born into creation with the blessing and guidance of Mr. Davis.
On Tuesday, March 27th, Mr. Davis peacefully made his conscious transition from his earth body. It is a bittersweet time for us at CSE and BLC as we let our hearts break open into the eternal love that transcends time, space and the physical form of this beloved Teacher.
Join us this Wednesday as we meditate and honor Mr. Davis. Share your favorite story, inspiring quote or transformative teaching from Mr. Davis that touched your heart. If you did not have the privilege to meet Mr. Davis personally, then join us and experience his humble, powerful presence by the spiritual footprint he left in the hearts of those who did and let yourself be transformed from the inside out. Mr. Davis' generous commitment to the realization of our essential peace, love and wholeness, in this lifetime, can live on within us all.

The Yogic Way of Living
Paula Whang-Ramos
"We don't have to deny the world to live spiritually."
~ Mr. Roy Eugene Davis
Sometimes on our spiritual path, we mistakenly believe that we could be "more spiritual", if we were freed from a few of our more challenging worldly responsibilities. The mind thinks, "If only I had a different job or larger home or new partner or faster car, or if only I had more money or less stress, then I could be more spiritual." However, in the yoga tradition, this story is not true.
In Yoga, we are already spiritual beings, whole and complete, and there is nothing we can do or need to do to be more spiritual. Yogic lifestyle practices and philosophy can help us recognize the truth of what we are, and guide us to see challenging situations as opportunities to live more spiritually conscious lives - right here, right now. What can come from the yogic way of living? Peace amidst chaos, clarity amidst confusion, love amidst loss, joy amidst sadness. In Yoga, we can learn to live as spiritually conscious beings, whole and complete - even amidst seemingly broken circumstances in our lives.

Living In Perennial Goodness
Paula Whang-Ramos
"There is a force for good that operates the universe and we can learn to cooperate with it."
~ Mr. Roy Eugene Davis
Imagine what our lives could be like if our thoughts, words and actions were inspired from the inherent goodness that indwells us all? Imagine the ability to make necessary course corrections to return our attention into the perennial force for good, when we step out of integrity with It? Imagine the peace, joy, and clarity that would become a natural part of our daily lives, even during challenging circumstances? This week, we are blessed with two opportunities to live into these questions.
Join us at CSE this weekend for a very special opportunity to meditate and receive Kriya Yoga teachings from Mr. Roy Eugene Davis, Yogacharya O'Brian's Spiritual Teacher. Learn specific meditation techniques and holistic living practices to live into the force for good that operates the universe and blesses our lives every day. Renounce. Be Free. Enjoy.
Paula Whang-Ramos
"The prosperity we seek is seeking us. We discover it once we get out of the way.”
Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, pg. 226
Renounce. Be Free. Enjoy. In The Jewel of Abundance, Yogacharya describes this ancient Yogic teaching as "the time-tested formula for how to live a fulfilled life without losing your soul in the process" (pg. 227). Imagine giving yourself permission to renounce that which no longer serves your soul joy, learning how to live free from the spinning mind, and enjoying a life lived from your essential wholeness and abundance - right here and right now. Join us at CSE this morning as we explore inspirational wisdom from teachers in our teaching tradition to guide us into happy, spiritually awake, abundant lives - today.
Join us at BLC this Wednesday as we continue to live into the wisdom teachings offered in Part 4 of The Jewel of Abundance. We will explore ancient Yogic practices that support spiritually conscious living, as well as universal growing edges that are a normal part of the spiritual awakening path. Finally, we will celebrate remedies that Yogacharya offers to help us remember the peace, love and joy that we are! Join us this Thursday for our free "Learn to Meditate" class if you would like to develop or refresh your daily meditation practice. All are welcome at all CSE and BLC gatherings.

Live Beyond The Limited Mind
Paula Whang-Ramos
"We cannot know the fullness of our essential Self through thought alone because any thought, no matter how grand, is limiting."
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, pg. 120
Learning to transform our negative thought patterns into more constructive, uplifting ones is a necessary but insufficient step to the realization and direct experience of our essential Yoga Wholeness. Why isn't positive thinking enough to get us through life challenges? Because all thoughts, even positive ones, are products of the ever-changing mind. This is the same mind from which our thoughts of negativity, judgment, and doubt arise. If we truly want to experience our indwelling Wholeness, unshakable peace, and unconditional love, then we must go deeper than the mind.
All are welcome this Wednesday, for our spiritual book study of The Jewel of Abundance by Yogacharya O'Brian. This week, we will explore the practice of meditation and other ancient Yogic pathways into our essential Self. From the core of our being, we mature beyond our reliance on the limited, ever-changing mind. Instead, we open into the indwelling Source of Wholeness and the limitless, grand possibilities that can emerge from within.
