The Gift of Spiritual Community

Paula Whang-Ramos

"Let us encourage one another with spiritual friendship, conversations that are uplifting,

and remembrance of our sacred purpose in life."
~ Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian

It is true that our path of awakening is an individual experience. No one can do it for us. Only we can accept, unwrap and live in our innate peace, love and wholeness for ourselves. And, it is also true that our spiritual paths can be greatly enhanced when we share the journey with other sincere seekers who are also committed to a more fulfilling way of life. When we meditate and study together in spiritual community, we experience the uplifting effects of the group energy supporting our own process. As we open into the group consciousness, we can directly experience deeper inspiration and unity with the One in all.

For the next 5 weeks, we will be expanding our Wednesday evening meditation group to also include opportunities for deeper study and growth in spiritual community. Join us for "Living Yoga: The Eternal Way", from 6:30 - 8:30, beginning this Wednesday through February 28th. We will share a time of meditation and study of practical, ancient universal teachings to live Yoga wholeness in our daily lives. Share the journey into inner peace in the uplifting community of other peace makers.

Join us at Blue Lotus Center to learn and live the ancient practices of unity and peace to be the change we want to see in the world. Make this the year that we affirm and skillfully live the inner call to peace in our minds, hearts, families, community and our world. The Blue Lotus Meditation & Yoga Center welcomes sincere seekers from all backgrounds. Beginning and experienced participants from all traditions are welcome at all gatherings.

Find Your Peace

Paula Whang-Ramos

"Meditation supports our ability to make positive changes...

The benefits of mediation are initially observed in one's daily life rather than within the sitting practice itself."
~ Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian

While we may directly experience inner peace, love and clarity during our sitting practice of meditation, we often experience the benefits of meditation in our daily lives as we may notice that we are calmer in the presence of circumstances that used to agitate us. We may have more clarity instead of confusion. We may have more patience instead of impatience. Although our outer circumstances may remain the same, we are inwardly more content, and better equipped to not sweat the small stuff.

Through spiritually conscious living, we can allow this inner calmness and clarity to inform our thoughts, words and actions, so we can be more constructively intentional and less emotionally reactive. We can allow the unshakable joy and gratitude of the soul to be experienced as blessings throughout our daily activities and interactions, even when unexpected events arise. And, when we get caught up in the stress of the moment, our meditation and spiritually conscious living practices provide clear course corrections to return to our inner peace, love and clarity again and again.

If you are called to experience more calmness, peace and joy, and less frustration, agitation and fear in your daily life, then join us for our upcoming 5 week class, Living Yoga: The Eternal Way. In the uplifting community of other sincere seekers, each week we will meditate; study yogic philosophy to deepen our own awareness as spiritual beings who have human experiences; and learn ancient, universal daily practices to help us generalize the positive effects of meditation into our daily lives.

Living Yoga

Paula Whang-Ramos

"If the practice of yoga does not result in love and desire for God‐realization, it is not yoga. To show the path to the rediscovery of the soul is the only permanent good that can be done to the world. This will mitigate the suffering in the world."

~ Lahiri Mahasaya

To live a Yogic life is to live from our essential wholeness (Self-realization). This consciousness transcends limited mental perceptions of the limiting stories in our mind and experiences in our lives. We are so much more than that! We are individual expressions of the Wholeness that enlivens all life! A yogic life is a holistic experience of life, consciously lived in the Source of peace, wisdom, and joy.

Beyond our Self-realization is the greater realization that all of life as we know it, every being and every situation, is enlivened by this same essential Wholeness (God-realization). When we live in the conscious awareness of our eternal interconnected wholeness in the Source of life, then our lives flow from an even deeper fulfillment as we open into the divine grace that is always availing Itself to us through inspiration, hope, peace, compassion, and love, even during the most challenging times.

This year, to support our lives in Yoga wholeness, we are pleased to offer the class series Living Yoga. Throughout the year, we will offer these multi-week classes where we can dive more deeply into the study of these rich, ancient Yogic teachings. We will have opportunities to learn and integrate these universal practices into our daily lives so we can experience deeper peace, joy and wisdom now!

To welcome 2018 in Yogic wholeness, this month, we will be offering Living Yoga: The Eternal Way. We will study the ancient teachings from which Yoga originates. We will learn and practice these universal, time-tested practices to care for the mind, body and soul:

  • to transcend negative habits
  • to access our unshakable peace, wisdom and joy
  • to support the overall wellness
  • to live more consciously in Wholeness

Join us at Blue Lotus Center to learn and live the ancient practices of unity and peace to be the change we want to see in the world. Make this the year that we affirm and skillfully live the inner call to peace in our minds, hearts, families, community and our world. The Blue Lotus Meditation & Yoga Center welcomes sincere seekers from all backgrounds. Beginning and experienced participants from all traditions are welcome at all gatherings.

Living Peace in 2018

Paula Whang-Ramos

"People wonder: Is peace possible?
When we experience our own transformation, we know it is possible."

~ Yogacharya Ellen Grace O'Brian

I pray your new year is unfolding in deep joy and peace.

It is my joy to share this article that recently appeared in South Valley Magazine, a beautiful supplement in our local newspapers. I offer it as a personal invitation to regularly join us at CSE and BLC as we cultivate inner peace in our hearts and our lives. When we join together in conscious community, we contribute to the awakening of the collective peace and unity so needed in our communities and our country today.

Let this be the year we mature beyond the wrong thinking that the inner peace, joy and clarity we so long for can be earned or achieved through the acquisition of outer activities and circumstances. We are worth more than the temporary peace that arises from obtaining worldly accomplishments, experiences and things. We are and we deserve more than that in this lifetime!

Let this be the year that we live in the abundance of divine possibility and the freedom that naturally arises beyond the limited thinking of the mind. And, beyond our personal fulfillment, let this be the year that we expand our consciousness and consider the footprint that we are leaving in the hearts of our families and our community. In 2018, join us at CSE and BLC as we live in peace and freely share footprints of peace in the hearts of all.

Prayer For A United World

Paula Whang-Ramos

"May the heads of all countries and races be guided to understand
that people of all nations are physically and spiritually one...
Let us pray in our hearts for a League of Souls and a United World.
May we work for the creation of a United World in which every nation will be
a useful part, guided by God through our enlightened consciousness."

~ Paramahansa Yogananda

New Year's greetings to all!

It is inspiring to envision a world of nations' leaders and citizens living in Oneness consciousness. Imagine every nation working together to serve the One in all. Imagine all leaders representing the One in all. Imagine every world citizen consciously living from the One in all. World peace would prevail!

Written over 60 years ago, this passage from Yogananda's "Prayer for a United World" invites us into the divine possibility that this new year offers us today. Yogananda reminds us of a deeper, more substantive Reality that is the Source of life we share with all life, including those whom we agree, and with those whom we disagree. How can we contribute to the realization of such a big vision?

The ancient Yogic teachings that Yogananda brought to the USA almost 100 years ago provides a path and a practice by which we can realize, live from and consciously share this Oneness consciousness today. In this auspicious moment, every one of us has the power, right now, to live Yogananda's prayer for unity and peace. To the best of our ability, in our thoughts, words and actions towards ourselves and all life, we take our place in the world community of Oneness, where we can appreciate the harmony and diversity of Life.

Join us at Blue Lotus Center to learn and live the ancient practices of unity and peace that Yogananda taught, so that we can be the change we want to see in the world. Make this the year that we affirm and skillfully live the inner call to peace in our minds, hearts, families, community and our world.
