The Supreme Power Of Meditation
Paula Whang-Ramos
"Meditation keeps you directly in tune with the Power that evokes all thought. To touch that Supreme Power is meditation."
Paramahansa Yogananda, (2018), Man's Eternal Quest, pg. 350
Without a daily meditation practice, it can be easy to wrongly believe that we are our thoughts. We may then project this wrong thinking into our daily lives, thinking that the achievement of one more job promotion, or the acceptance of that one "special person", or the acquisition of that financial gain, will bring us the happiness and personal worth that we seek. And the attainment of these life changes may bring us temporary fulfillment...until they change, or we change, and their value in our minds is diminished. And then, we are on the search once again, for an external source for our internal integrity.
Conversely, when we meditate superconsciously, we practice letting go of the mental habit of automatically believing and following our ever-changing thoughts as if they are Truth. Again and again, we redirect our attention into a deeper inner wisdom that indwells every one of us. As we hold our inner focus on a single point within, thoughts quiet so we can finally rest in the restorative spiritual silence beneath all thought. When we return our attention into this Source, we inwardly open into the inspiration, hope, and Truth we seek, so we can live in the wisdom guided happiness and worth that we all deserve in this lifetime.

Plain Living and High Thinking
Paula Whang-Ramos
"Plain living and high thinking should be your goal. Learn to carry all the conditions of happiness within yourself
by meditating and attuning your consciousness to the ever-existing, ever-conscious, ever-new Joy."
Paramahansa Yogananda, (2018), Man's Eternal Quest, pg. 70
In our busy lives, it can be easy to get caught up in daily roles, responsibilities, and expectations. We can even begin to define our happiness based on our reactions to these experiences. Unfortunately, happiness based on these changing conditions offers temporary fulfillment, at best. As soon as our expectations, experiences, and reactions change, our happiness can be at risk once again.
Alternatively, meditation offers an inner pathway into the happiness that naturally arises when we live from our essential wholeness and goodness. We don't meditate to become more happy, whole, or good. Rather, we meditate to remove the mental obstacles that prevent us from experiencing this inner soul joy that already indwells us. As we learn to live from the inside out, life inherently becomes less reactive and more conscious, less confusing and more clear, less stressful and more grateful. But, don't take my word for it. Meditate daily and experience more conscious clarity and gratitude for your Self.

Journey In Love
Paula Whang-Ramos
"When in 1920 Paramahansa Yogananda was deemed ready to begin his world mission of disseminating the soul-liberating science of Yoga,
Mahavatar Babaji told him of the divine responsibility that was to be his: 'You are the one I have chosen to spread the message of Kriya Yoga in the West.'"
Paramahansa Yogananda, Man's Eternal Quest, Introduction, p. xiii.
One hundred years ago, at 27 years of age, Paramahansa Yogananda left his spiritual teachers, spiritual community, family, culture, language, and every earth life comfort he knew, to travel by himself to this foreign country. In the face of great loss and the great unknown, Yogananda courageously took his place in a much larger spiritual plan, as envisioned by one of his spiritual teachers, Mahavatar Babaji. And, in divine grace, this single selfless choice made by one man, created life transforming opportunities for Yoga Oneness and inner freedom for us all.
In love and gratitude, BLC dedicates 2020 as a Journey In Love, where we honor Paramahansa Yogananda and the priceless gift of Kriya Yoga that he so freely shared with our country. It must be nothing less than Yogananda's unconditional love in Yoga Oneness that could inspire such courage, surrender, and selfless service - love for the Divine, love for his spiritual teachers and the teachings, love for his divine calling, and love for millions of westerners whom he would never personally meet. Throughout the year, BLC will offer special classes and gatherings that allow us to step into the stream of Wholeness that Yogananda saw in all beings. All are welcome in our Journey In Love.
