Acharya Vandana's  Weekly Inspirations

“If anything disturbs your peace, practice having faith that divine grace is already actively at work restoring wholeness and well-being.

Then make any necessary adjustments in harmony with that insight.”

Just Say "Yes!"
Paula Whang-Ramos

Everything hinges on that yes of willingness. Once we arrive there, we have opened ourselves to the prospering power of the universe.”
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p. 53

When you take a conscious moment to stop, look, and listen within, what uplifting yearning is calling from your soul? Perhaps it is a yearning for more stillness, peace, courage, or joy in our lives. But, wishing or hoping alone is not sufficient to realize these qualities.

Once we say "yes" into the divine potential expressing through our soul, we begin the adventure of actively looking and listening into ways in which divine grace supports those qualities in our lives right now. Yes, we may need to adjust our thoughts, words, and actions to be more receptive to these deeper qualities. And, yes, we may need to replace negative habits with more uplifting consciousness, communication, and lifestyle choices. And, yes again, we are also blessed with the ancient, powerful philosophy and practices of Kriya Yoga to help us navigate our way into the spiritually fulfilling lives we all deserve.

At the exuberant core of our being, the soul revels in experiencing the wonders of life, connecting to the Source, and living in ITs joy, peace, and possibility. As the eternal and unlimited Self, be willing to take that first step into the future you imagine and desire. The universe is waiting to support us all, right now. Yes, IT is!

Inner Doorways to Divine Love*
Paula Whang-Ramos

"Grief and delight still have a place in our heart, and either can become a doorway to divine love."
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p.230

On our spiritual path, we love those delightful moments of uplifting synchronicities, yes? You know, like when we need an encouraging word and randomly open a book to the perfect passage that inspires us. In that moment, we may feel affirmed that we are on our right spiritual path. And we are.

But what do we do with our grief from the loss of something or someone who was of value to us? How do we hold our heartache in the same uplifting way that we hold delight? Theanswer is - we don't. We don't minimize or sugarcoat our inner experience of real loss, because doing so can deepen our grief when we deny it. The truth is, grief is our normal human response to the loss of something or someone that we love. When we honestly acknowledge and tenderly process our grief, then we can experience the love that still remains beneath the loss. We carry more tissue, give ourselves extra time in silence to process our grief, and surround ourselves with loved ones who can hold compassionate space for us while we say "Thank you, I love you, and good-bye" to the beloved earthly expression who is no longer part of our daily lives.

As spiritual practice, we do not stop there. Beyond our love for that which is gone from our earth lives, is Divine Love that transcends time, space, and physical form. In Divine Love, the eternal love for our beloved can be reclaimed within us. Yes, grief as a spiritual practice takes compassionate self-care, courage, and more spacious patience than our busy minds prefer. But when we let our hearts break all the way open into Divine Love, we can deeply heal into the Source of love that never dies. And, we realize that even in grief, we are still on our right spiritual path. Because we are.

The Light Of Wholeness
Paula Whang-Ramos

Superconscious meditation is the most effective tool we have for enhanced well-being and spiritual realization...the ultimate goal is always the same: conscious, direct experience of our essential Self.” ~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p.116

In this tradition of Kriya Yoga, the goal of meditation is not to meditate. Nor is it the goal to be more peaceful, wise, spiritual, loving, or whole. Nor is it the goal to have an “out of body experience” to escape our daily lives. Why then, do we meditate? We meditate to quiet the busy mind whose distracted, undisciplined thoughts obscure our ability to directly experience the indwelling peaceful, wise, loving, spiritual beings that we already are.

For example, on a cloudy day, we may say, “There is no sun today.” When the clouds lift, we may say, “Oh look, the sun has returned!” However, neither of these statements is true. The sun has no reason to return because it never left the sky. What is true is that the clouds obscured our ability to see that the sun was always right where it should be.

Our minds are like clouds, whose distractions and reactions obscure our ability to realize the divine wholeness shining within us right now. Our meditation practice clarifies our vision into a deeper superconsciousness that reveals our essential peace, love, and wholeness always shining brightly behind the cloudy mind. The more we meditate superconsciously, the greater our inner vision reveals the divine wholeness, grace, and harmony blessing all aspects of our daily lives, even during cloudy-mind moments. Superconscious meditation helps us say “YES!” to enhanced well-being, spiritual realization, and the direct experience of our essential Self – in this lifetime!

Divine Remembrance
Paula Whang-Ramos

Awakening is a transformational process. We discover we are not what we thought we were.”
~Yogacharya Ellen Grace O’Brian, The Jewel of Abundance, p.74

There is often a sense of relief, joy, hope, and freedom when we realize that we are more than the mind/body, and all of its life experiences, limitations, expectations, and roles. As we mature on our path of spiritual awakening, we realize we are the individual expressions of the eternal, unchanging divine Presence that enlivens the mind/body and all of its experiences. Unlike the mind/body, at our spiritual core, we are not harmed or diminished by any of our earth life experiences, including our greatest losses and challenges.

For many of us, the realization of our true, unchanging Self is a gradual awakening. It is filled with moments of divine remembrance and ego forgetfulness. Our daily superconscious meditation and Kriya Yoga practice help us remember what we are. With dedicated spiritual practice, our lives become a journey of self-discovery, where even our moments of forgetfulness can become opportunities for spiritual renewal and growth. As our soul wisdom deepens, so can the integrity, quality, and meaning of our lives, as we realize that we are so much more than we thought we were.
